    Combine basil, garlic, and pine nuts in a food processor or blender and pulse until coarsely chopped.

    Add in parmesan cheese and pulse again.

    Slowly add the olive oil in a constant stream while the food processor or blender is running. Stop to scrape down sides of the container with a rubber spatula.

    Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

    Store in a jar with an extra layer of olive oil on top or use immediately.
